Art.
Art has been my companion
for as long as I can remember.
I started drawing to slow my thoughts,
to catch my breath—and discovered joy.
It shapes my imagination,
lets my ideas run wild,
and invites me to play, wonder, explore.
Through creating, I find my voice,
turning ordinary moments
into little sparks of meaning.
How to Make a Chocolate Cake
2024
Stop motion video
Using air-dry clay, I created a stop-motion animation that brings the process of making a chocolate cake to life, one tiny step at a time. Although the process was slow, watching the clay slowly “wake up” frame by frame was really fun.

Coral’s Lament
2024
10in x 10in x 10in
air-dry clay, watercolor, aluminium foil
This is a small installation artwork made with air-dry clay, watercolor, and found materials. The coral in the center looks white and faded because it represents coral bleaching caused by human pollution and climate change. Around it, I placed toy cars, dust, and broken objects to show how human activity affects the ocean. The bright colors show how beautiful the ocean used to be, while the pale coral shows what happens when nature is harmed.

Plastic Ocean
2024
20in x 16in x 8in
plastic straw, fishing net, plastic fabric, wood-board
This piece uses discarded plastics to form marine creatures entangled in fishing nets, showing how human overconsumption affects ocean ecosystems. The net represents both the physical trapping of sea life and humanity’s connection to unsustainable habits. Through this work, I hope viewers notice the quiet struggle beneath the surface and reflect on how everyday choices can impact the ocean.

Swing between worlds
2025
6in x 12in x 6in
air-dry clay, watercolor,
This is a mixed-media installation combining photography, collage, and sculpture, featuring photographs I personally captured to document my everyday life in both Shanghai and Indonesia. Growing up as an Indonesian Chinese in Shanghai, I have been shaped by two contrasting cultural landscapes while navigating a globalized world. By juxtaposing metropolitan skylines with natural scenery and incorporating a gently swaying swing, this work reflects my search for belonging and identity in an interconnected world. It is a personal exploration of connection, balance, and self-discovery.

Lasting Friendship
2024
16 in x 12 in
watercolor, colorpencil
Lasting Friendship is based on photos of my brother, myself, and our family dog, who has been with me since I was very young. As I grew up, he has always been there—playing with us, sitting beside us, and quietly keeping us company. This painting captures a friendship that continues to grow alongside my childhood.

Printmaking
This watercolor painting is based on a childhood photo of my brothers and me. When we were young, we often became fully immersed in our own imaginary worlds, turning simple play into imaginative adventures. In this piece, I transformed the background into the toy world we once imagined, capturing the sense of freedom, creativity, and innocence that defined our childhood.
